Your files stay on your device

The large majority of our tools run entirely in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. For these tools, the files you select are never uploaded to any server. They're read into your browser's memory, processed locally, and the result is offered back to you as a download. When you close or refresh the page, that data is gone.

Optional server-side processing

A few advanced features (high-fidelity Office conversions and AES-256 password encryption) may use a secure backend when one is enabled for this deployment. In that case: files are transmitted over HTTPS, processed in a temporary location, and deleted immediately after the conversion completes. We do not log or retain file contents. The interface always tells you when a tool uses server-side processing.

What we collect

We do not require an account and do not ask for personal information to use the tools. We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (such as which tools are popular) that cannot identify you or your files.

Passwords

For Protect and Unlock PDF, any password you enter is used only to perform the operation you requested and is never stored or transmitted for client-side processing. If you lose a password you set, we cannot recover your file.
